Seasonal Pool Manager
Paint Rock Pool, a neighborhood pool in Lexington, MA, is seeking a Pool Manager for the 2026 summer season. This seasonal leadership role oversees daily operations of the pool, including lifeguard staff management, swim lessons, safety, and facility upkeep.
The Pool Manager reports to the Board of Directors and plays a central role in making the pool a safe, welcoming community space.
Key responsibilities include

Hiring, scheduling, and supervising a team of lifeguards.

Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure the safety of pool users.

Running a swim lesson program and supporting swim team activities.

Coordinating with vendors for maintenance of the pool and facilities.

Preparing the pool for inspections and permitting.

Maintaining facilities and supplies, including pool chemicals and bathhouse needs.

Managing pool operations within the established budget and reporting regularly to the Board.
Qualifications
-
Experience in aquatics (lifeguarding, pool management, swim instruction, or related).

Strong leadership and communication skills; at least two years’ supervisory experience preferred.

Current CPR/First Aid certification (American Red Cross).

Must have or obtain Massachusetts Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification (training available).

Under Massachusetts General Laws, 105 CMR, § 435.17, Pool Supervisors must be at least 21 years of age.
Other details
-
Seasonal full-time position during the pool operating season from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Limited and flexible part-time hours to hire life guards beginning in January.

Seasonal Lifeguards, Swim Instructors and Coaches
We are looking for certified lifeguards, group and private swim lesson instructors and swim coaches who are proactive, prioritize safety, and love to work with children and adults.

Applications for the upcoming season will be accepted starting in January, 2026.

Applications will be reviewed between January – August, 2026.

Certified Lifeguards
(Ages 16+)
We expect guards to:
-
Enforce rules
-
Promote safety
-
Pay exclusive attention to swimmers when on deck

Clean the pool, the bathrooms, and picnic, play, and seating areas

Perform other job-related tasks
Certified Group and Private Lesson Instructors
(Ages 15+)
We expect instructors to:

Promote safety
-
Teach basic swim skills to swimmers

Communicate with families regarding progress
-
Perform other job-related tasks
Swim Coaches
(Ages 16+. Some swim team experience is required.)
We expect coaches to:

Promote safety
-
Work with the coaching team to plan and conduct our swim team program for elementary through high school age participants (approximately 55 swimmers)

Conduct daily swim practices

Attend weekly swim meets one afternoon per week

Perform other job-related tasks
